I made a loaf!
Did cheat though as we bought a bread maker 🙈. Hope you’re all keeping well.
I’m blooming falling apart!
Mrs self employed, introvert, cook from scratch, is unhinged!
Four weeks ago when I saw everything start to fall apart i had been preparing for these days, now they are here I can hardly string a sentence together.
My house has never been more upside down, i can’t focus and now i’m teaching french and spanish 🤯. I had full intentions of “showing up” and help navigate people on life at home, but quite frankly i feel like i’m a novice myself!
I also wanted to start @communitycookclub to help people find ideas, but i’m looking around and I think you’re all bossing it without any of my old input!
So i’ll just keep on popping some recipe ideas up here instead I think we’re I have my swipe up to link pinterest etc.
Going now to try not to mess up rice krispie buns, but i genuinely can’t promise i won’t burn the chocolate!
#hanginthere #inittogether #stayhome #washthosehands
Feels like forever that i’ve popped on my grid and said hello.
I’d ask how you all are but i’m sure i already know.
Tbh I’ve had such a rollercoaster of a week, being self employed and a lot of workshops booked in over last weekend and start of April, last week just was a blur and I genuinely don’t know how i did what I did.
Then the past 48 hours was a whirlwind of checking the boys were sorted for schooling, what supplies we had at home and all the rest.
I have cried.
I’ve gave thanks.
I’ve cried some more.
I’ve have palpitations.
I’ve felt strong.
I’ve felt weary.
This morning I didn’t even want to get out of bed.
Seeing stories of everyone up doing Joe Wicks workouts and i’m like “meh”. But i’ve gave myself a kick up the butt, because while I know i’m allowed to have mix feelings, I’m not going to get through this period if i’m feeling low.
Now i want to focus on staying at home in support of our NHS staff and to protect our the most vulnerable.
With regards to the website, I have lots of backorders for the foaming pumps and have the boxes waiting for them to arrive and then i’ll be heading to do a drop, after that i’ll be doing one postal run a week or i will have a collection box outside my home for local pick up.
For now guys stay safe, stay at home and when going out for food keep 2m away from other humans!
Morning, and what a beauty it is!!
I know so many of you (especially) in NI are feeling a little worried or apprehensive of what’s happening in our country and the world at the minute.
I know I am.
It’s not a fear of catching Covid 19 it’s more the disruption of life and a “new” normal that might be happening for a while.
I am writing a list of DIY that needs done and trying to turn a “gloom” period into a “bloom”.
As regards to my website i’m trying as hard as i can to keep stock filled and i still have tons of castile soap and all the other cleaning products you need.
I’m heading to the post office every day so packages should be arriving with you quickly! I’ve also decided to upgrade parcels to 1st class (at no extra cost to you) over the coming weeks so it gets to you even quicker.
I think making products more accessible to people rather than increasing prices is what needs to be happening!
Whatever you are at just:
keep those hands washed.
Clean door handles, remotes, light switches, mobile phones and keyboards etc regularly (but you already did that didn’t you 🤪).
I’ve personally got a hand washing regime at the back door sink going and also a spray for wiping our mobile phones when we come into the house!
The boys are so sick of me saying “wash you hands, stop biting your nails, stop touching your face 🤯” Love to you all,
Laura J xxx
I can’t believe i’ve never written this post before.
A post soley on what essential oils i use for cleaning.
It was asked on yesterday’s post and I couldn’t believe i’ve never actually written about them (talked about yes but not a post). I think I’ve now taken it for granted how much these little bottles mean to us in our home.
It’s easy for me to lift mine of the shelf and use but for anyone who’s new to essential oils you might want to know what to use, why to use and where to use!
So here are my fav oils for household cleaning:
LEMON, antiviral and antibacterial. Attacks and dissolves dirt and grime. Great for removing sticky labels.
THIEVES BLEND: (clove, lemon, cinnamon, eucalyptus and rosemary). This is the cleaning power house as it has so many essential oils that fight bacteria in our homes.
I diffuse this, clean toilets with it, floors, fridges, sinks... you name it! If you had one oil for cleaning this would be it!
PEPPERMINT: Antibacterial and antifungal. Natural rodent and pest repellant. Also good for achieving streak free windows and glass.
LAVENDER, antibacterial and great for fighting odour. Great for your mattresses (which in turn helps promote a good nights sleep) spraying in shoes, around the toilet, in your laundry powder to help combat nasty odours. Also good for adding to water to wash kids toys as it’s one of the oils that is safe for kids!
TEA TREE (melaleuca). Fights germs, bacteria, viruses. Great for mould and mildew and also great in your hand washes!
PURIFICATION BLEND (citronella, lavender, lemongrass, rosemary, myryle & tea tree). I use this primarily for diffusing to purify the air in bedrooms and after cooking and also in my mattress sprays.
PINE, kills household germs like yeast spores. Great for Mould and Mildew. Helps kills odours and purifies the air. Great for the bathroom and floors.
EUCALYPTUS, has antiseptic and antimicrobial properties. Great for mould and mildew and for around the toilets. Add two drops to a cotton wool balls and place in the bottom of your bin or under your sink to remove odours.
I hope this introduction to these mighty oils helps.
