Homemade Organic Sugar Scub

You Need:

450g granulated sugar
85g coconut oil
essential oil of choice (may favourites are grapefruit, lemongrass and rose)
food colouring (optional)

The above quantites will be enough fill a 500ml mason jar.

Method (and a little banter):

Get a large bowl (I used an old Tupperware box that had lost its lid….like how does this even happen? Has anyone else got a drawer full of random boxes/lids and none seem to fit?? My thoughts are that somewhere Tupperware lids and odd socks are having a party!)

Melt your coconut oil (which I bought in Home Bargains) in the microwave for 30 secs.

Mix the melted oil and sugar together and add your choice of oil. Start of with about 8-10 drops and adjust according to your own scent preference. I got my oils in Holland and Barrett (and they are on offer at the minute).

You can also add a drop of natural food dye in. I used red in my rose scrub and yellow in my lemongrass. The grapefruit oil already had a orange colour in it!

Rose Sugar Scrub (some rhubard oil would work well with this too!)

The scrub also smells like coconut… bonus!

Invigorating Grapefruit….My Favourite!

Pop into a mason jar (i got mine here) and enjoy!

I’m going to tie mine with raffia and add one of these little scoops.

Perfect end of term gift for the long list of teachers and assistants!

Total cost per jar: £1.80 (£2.40 if you add a little scoop).

Enjoy and make sure you let me know what scent you decide to go with!!
